Special Programs & Services
Pediatric Physical Therapy
Our Clinic provides the ONLY Pediatric Physical Therapy Program within 20 miles of Fowlerville. Dan Santioni PT is in charge of this program, while he has extensive experience in the area of Pediatric PT (all ages: newborn to teen) He provides therapy for a broad array of pediatric problems including (but not limited to) developmental delay, orthopedic & neurological disorders & even pulmonary conditions. Kuirsta Carlson MPT is our other Pediatric Physical Therapist, while she has also specialized in this specialty for several years. For the convenience of parents, we are able to provide evening & Saturday appointments and while our Fowlerville clinic is our main Pediatric center, when necessary we can also provide therapy for the children at our Howell clinic. If you have a son or daughter, that may require PT & you would like to avail of the opportunity for them to attend our practice, Dan or Kuirsta would be pleased to answer any questions that you might have, while they are well known & respected by many of the Pediatric physicians in Livingston County.
Certified Graston Technique Provider
Graston Technique is an innovative instrument assisted manual therapy technique, which enables clinicians to achieve quicker & better outcomes treating both chronic & acute conditions including spinal problems, shoulder & elbow tendonitis, knee problems & plantar fasciitis etc., which often FAIL to recover with other therapy choices. As of August 2009, Fowlerville PT Specialists earned the distinction of being 1 of just 3 PT clinic in Michigan, which is a Certified GT provider.
Certified Sportsmetrics Site
In July 2011, our practice became a Sportmetrics Certified Site after Eddy Landon, our PTA, completed the Cincinnati SportsMedicine and Orthopedic Center Sportsmetrics Certification Program. This program provides patients with both clinically proven ACL (Anterior CruciateLigament) prevention training as well as return to play training for those athletes that are recovering from an ACL, while we are now able to make this program available in our community.
Women's Health Program
This program has been recently established in response to the many women that struggle with Urinary Incontinence, Pelvic Pain & problems relating to Pregnancy. Glenda is one of the most experienced Womens Health Physical Therapists in Livingston County & can often times provide effective treatment for these conditions. Anodyne (InfraRed) Therapy Care Provider for Peripheral Neuropathy
Combined with balance & proprioceptive drills, this program consistently provides neuropathic pain relief & improves a person’s balance & gait, which in turn helps to prevent falls & promotes independence. Of interest, Glenda studied the use of this treatment procedure for peripheral neuropathy as part of her Doctorate program. Personal Training for all Populations
This program is geared toward any individual who desires a higher level of fitness & wellness. The program is individualized with a focus on steady improvement & avoiding injury. The program is coordinated by John Dean PT, who is a certified personal trainer, strength & conditioning specialist & wellness instructor who has worked with individuals of varying fitness levels for many years. If you have an interest in personal training, please contact John to discuss your fitness goals.
Post Discharge Exercise & Fitness
Physical Therapy ends when skilled intervention is no longer indicated (or when your insurance plan will not approve any more therapy) however you may still need to become stronger & regain your fitness. This program (which is available to our patients for a nominal fee) enables you to recover completely so you can resume your active lifestyle without restrictions.
Balance Assessment & Fall Prevention
The intent of this program is to identify individuals that are at risk of falling & in turn instruct them in safety prevention & how to implement safety measures in their home, as well as providing them with an appropriate exercise program, if indicated.
Every year, 30-60% of adults fall & the rate increases with age. In addition, a significant percentage of deaths every year, result from injuries relating to falling.
